Capoeira-Inspired Classes

We don't need a ton of equipment to workout ... not even shoes!


These classes go back to the basics, focusing on the body range of motion, its interaction with the floor, gravity and other players. It's inspired by Capoeira, the Brazilian martial art, and incorporates mobility, flexibility, balance, coordination and flow. 


Classes are typically 90 minutes and start with a warm up and mobility stretching, then focused training on core movements, which are then combined in sequences to create an uninterrupted flow. Classes end in a roda (circle) formation where two players at a time put their training into action inside the roda, where music is playing. The training ends with a static stretching session.


Community is at the heart of these classes, where most training during classes are in pairs or groups. Experience this vibrant, community-oriented environment that motivates you to explore what your body and mind and create!  No prior experience required.

The Circuit Games
Playful bodyweight bootcamp

Using minimal equipment and mostly body-weight, these fun classes focus on functional training that will increase your strength, endurance, and overall physical fitness achieving a toned body, while having fun in a game-like setup.


Experience the positive transformation in both your body and mood through our varied circuit training sessions featuring bodyweight exercises, resistance workouts, and group training formats that create a supportive and fun community atmosphere.


Our training methods are suitable for all ages and abilities, with the possibility of setting up focused small group sessions, as well as individual/ personal training.

Personal Training
IndividualSessions

If you prefer to gain specific skills related to body mobility, flexibility or balance, or if you'd like to gain strength through a tailor-made program either using bodyweight or in a gym environment, we provide certified Personal Training that can be customized to your preferences and objectives. 


Our individual training program is focused on improving the body performance and achieving a toned body that is more flexible. We believe that increasing muscle volume on the expense of mobility, flexibility and agility is not in our core objectives.

About Us

 

Johnny launched Aktiv Circle in 2025 after spending two decades in the business and corporate world and more than 15 years practicing capoeira. Through these experiences, he saw a clear pattern: as fitness trends grew more sophisticated, they also grew more complicated. More machines. More equipment. More barriers. Yet in capoeira and other body-driven practices, he witnessed the opposite—strength, flexibility, and mobility built through simple, intentional movement.


Aktiv Circle was born from that contrast. Johnny believes that the most powerful training tools are the ones we carry with us every day: our body, our mind, and our ability to move with purpose. His mission is to bring fitness back to its roots, helping people develop functional strength, body control, mobility, and a lean, toned physique without relying on an entire room of gear.


Through Aktiv Circle, we are creating a community for people who want to move better, feel stronger, and build lifelong physical resilience, while learning new skills—without needing anything more than themselves.

FAQs

Capoeira classes are typically 90 minutes because they include 45 minutes of the core workout, in addition to 15 minutes of pre-warmup and 15 minutes of post-stretching , as well as 15 minutes of "game" where participants can apply their combined learnings against one another in the circle. Other fitness classes offered are typically 50-60 minutes.

Capoeira, animal, yoga and stretching classes are typically done barefoot. If you prefer to use shoes, please select your lightest flat shoes to allow the full range of your toes and ankles mobility. Other circuit classes can be done with shoes. 

As for cloths, it's recommended to wear comfortable, stretchy cloths, not oversized, to avoid entanglement. 

Bring your water bottle, and, if you prefer, your yoga mat.

Absolutely! The main purpose of those classes is to introduce participants to those disciplines and techniques. They do not target advanced players, though they are welcome to join and share their expertise. We build up the postures, muscle strength and techniques gradually then we combine movements into a seamless flow. Advanced acrobatics are not included in the sessions.
